Who I Work With

I work best with people asking some variation of the following questions:

    • What am I doing with my life?
    • How did I get here?
    • Why is this happening to me?
    • Is this it?
    • What the hell is going on?

– all honest questions and great starting points for developing more depth, meaning and purpose in your life.

I have a ton of experience in working with those who’ve “lost the plot” of their existence in that they are trying to figure out how to steer themselves and their lives in a direction that works better for them.

There are so many reasons why we might feel disoriented and lose direction, but major life transitions and changes related to career, relationship, illness, loss, and mental health challenges such as persistent anxiety and depression, tend to be the big ones.

Our Process Together

I take a holistic bio-psycho-social-enviro-spiritual approach to my work, which means I consider physical, mental, emotional, social, environmental, and spiritual needs as fundamental to healing, growth, and well-being.

Our work together will be about expanding your ability to take in your full experience. I don’t sit silently or passively throughout our session but instead lean into your world to contribute to expanding your sense of yourself, your patterns, your process and your experiences.

When it’s time to look backwards and explore your past, we do that. When it’s time to plan and take action, that’s where we go. But the overall goal is to help you grow and strengthen roots firmly anchored in the present – because that’s where conscious choice happens.

In session, we’ll explore your mental, emotional, physical, and/or spiritual experiences, as appropriate. We may work in different modalities at different times depending on your needs and what arises. For example, we may engage in general talk therapy, process a dream through a Jungian framework, explore competing parts of self through an Internal Family Systems framework, explore existential questions through spiritually integrated psychotherapy, or investigate and work with bodily sensations as they relate to emotions and thoughts to help increase your resilience in the face of challenging situations.

Our approach is determined by you so if I ever suggest a particular direction or action and you don’t like it, we won’t go there. We will work in a way that suits the person you are, and the needs that you have.

I'm here as a regular check-in person over the long term, as well as for acute issues arising in your life that may only require short term therapy. Together we will find a way of working together that is best aligned with who you are and what you need. You are a major contributor to this process so be aware that I work with what you bring. I can’t solve it for you but I can support you in finding your way into a life that feels more meaningful to you, however you define that.

Ensure my Schedule Lines up with Yours
  • I am available to see clients on Mondays 1pm-7pm, Tuesdays 9pm-4pm, Thursdays 12pm-7pm, and Fridays 8pm-1pm.
  • Please make sure that your availability lines up with mine before emailing for a consult.
  • Evening spots are always in high demand so you may be waitlisted for one of those spots.
  • Let me know what your availability is like when you reach out and consider how frequently you'd like to see me (once a week? every other week?). I do not start new therapeutic relationships with monthly sessions. Monthly sessions are available only after we have already done significant work together. Therapy will not be beneficial to you if you start with only one session a month. It will take us too long to simply get to know each other and settle into a trusting relationship that enables good therapy to take place.
Book a Consultation by Email
  • Consultations are free, 20-minute exploratory sessions held by video that allow us to meet one another, explore your needs and preferences, and talk about what approach will be the most helpful for you personally. You do not need to prepare for a consult.
  • I want us to both feel confident in our decision to work together. These initial consults help us get a sense of one another. If I don't think I'm the best therapist for you, I will be honest about that and will do my best to connect you to someone more appropriate.
  • Please note: I can only book consultations when I have an open spot. I cannot fit them into my schedule when I am full and running a waitlist.
Check your Insurance or Consider your Finances
  • Check with your insurance company to see if they cover services for Registered Psychotherapists. Make sure they cover practitioners with that specific title before submitting a claim.
  • Self-employed people may be able to deduct the cost of sessions as a professional development or medical expense. Check with your accountant.
  • HST is fully recoverable for those with a business number charging HST and claiming it as professional development.
Rates
  • My rate for individual therapy is $140 per 60 minute session.
  • I hold 3 sliding scale spots in my practice. If you'd like to be put on a wait list for a spot, please let me know and we can discuss your eligibility.
Book an Appointment
  • If we feel like we are a good fit, you can then book your first session and we can get started. All sessions are held by video.
